Wild oat resistance is a growing challenge that can silently erode yields. Just one resistant plant per square foot can lead to a 10% yield loss, making it crucial to know what you’re up against. At Erickson Ag Services, we offer wild oat resistance testing to determine if and what herbicide groups your wild oats are resistant to. Resistance patches are more common than many realize, and early detection allows for better management decisions to maintain long-term weed control. Wild Oat Resistance Testing Packages
We offer three levels of testing to suit your needs:
Basic Testing – $150 per group
Bring us your wild oat samples, and we’ll discuss potential resistance concerns, suggest which herbicide groups to test for, and handle the lab submission.
Field Sampling & GPS Marking – $190
Includes everything in Package 1, plus we will collect the samples ourselves, ensuring an even and distributed collection across your field. All sample locations will be GPS-marked for future reference.
Comprehensive Management Plan – $375
Comprehensive Management Plan – $375
Includes everything in Package 1 & 2, plus a customized three-year report with suggested crop rotations and herbicide strategies to help manage resistance while staying practical within your farm’s logistical constraints.
